Update
A smattering of thought on where I’d like to be headed:
- Redo the athile.net frontpage. The design needs a lot of work before I could convince anyone I know the slightest thing about design.
- Start working on some small visualization projects that solve actual problems: let LxEngine’s web incarnation grow from that. I’m starting with the lx.jquery.colorWheel plug-in as a testbed; the problem it intends to solve (eventually, it’s still a WIP) is creating a useful web-based color picker. Hardly a new problem, but one I’m yet to find a solution to that fully satisfies me. Working on a “known” problem also has advantages as I can spend more time worrying about the structuring of the project as opposed to wholly about the technical side of the problem – thus I can have a simple working example to move forward from.
- Experiment with NaCl: envisioning the web browser as the new VM, HTML5 as the new desktop GUI, …and it seems like it can get there incrementally (ChromeOS certainly is not there yet: if you don’t believe me, try playing shuffled music off a USB drive on a Chromebook)
